Publicity sells books. You have to be open to doing signing events at book stores and libraries. You have to be willing to participate in radio interviews, internet interviews, and television shows. You have to be willing to carry business cards so you can hand them out when you feel you have met potential readers. You have to be willing to create an internet presence with whatever platform fits your personality the best: a website, Facebook, Twitter, Tic Tok, Instagram, etcetera.

Below I list the appearances that I have made to promote my book A DANCE WITH THE DEVIL: A TRUE STORY OF MARRIAGE TO A PSYCHOPATH. My publisher sent out notifications to one hundred potential sources of publicity. That’s how I got the Dateline NBC show, the Kirkus Review, the Library Journal Review, and a couple of the Barnes & Noble signings. But beyond that, I had prepared a list of possible contacts and worked diligently to get myself out there. Publicity in one arena gave the book further exposure and led to me being contacted for other appearances.
